November on Knowva - Every Update

It's been a very busy month at Knowva HQ, with new content and features added both to the app and behind the scenes! Not only did we deliver even more amazing facts through Knowva's Daily Fact feature, we also made a number of changes all across Knowva.

In The App

Countries Mini Articles 

November was a big month for global learning in Knowva. We added 200+ mini country and region articles, making sure the entire world is now represented inside the app.

These shorter articles are designed for quick discovery and curiosity-led learning. They give children clear, friendly introductions to places they might hear about at school, see in the news, or spot on a map, without overwhelming them with detail. Parents can feel confident that every entry follows the same safe, consistent structure, written specifically for young learners.

This update also lays important groundwork for future expansion. With global coverage in place, we can now build deeper links between countries, landmarks, cultures, and history, helping children make meaningful connections as they explore.

Behind the Scenes 

The Knowva Blog

We launched the Knowva Blog to open things up a little more. Until now, much of what we’ve been working on has happened quietly in the background. While the Knowva Website lets us show some of the key features of Knowva, the blog gives us a space to explain why we make certain decisions, share updates more clearly, and help families feel more connected to Knowva as it grows.

You’ll find a mix of product updates, learning ideas, and thoughtful posts about children, technology, and curiosity. It’s written with parents in mind, but always rooted in what’s best for young learners. And hey, look at that, you're reading it right now! 

App Navigation Updates 

As Knowva continues to grow, clarity matters more than ever. In November, we made a number of navigation improvements to help children and adults move around the app more easily and intuitively.

The focus here was simplicity. Fewer distractions, clearer pathways, and less friction when moving between sections. These changes are subtle, but they make a real difference to how calm and confident the app feels to use.

Video and Media Changes 

One of the most important updates this month happened behind the scenes. We moved all video delivery to a dedicated content delivery network, removing the need for YouTube embeds entirely.

This means no ads, no suggested videos, and no unexpected interruptions, now or in the future. Videos load faster, play more reliably, and stay fully contained within Knowva’s safe environment.

It was a technical challenge, but one that strongly aligns with our values. You can read more about how we've made Knowva fully ad-free so kids can learn safely in this blog post. 

Freebie Fridays 

November also saw the start of Freebie Fridays on our social channels. Each week, we share short videos, facts, or learning snippets that families can enjoy together, even if they’re not using the app yet.

It’s a small way of giving something back, sparking curiosity beyond Knowva, and reaching families who might not have discovered us otherwise. If you follow us on social media, you’ll keep seeing these pop up regularly.

On The Horizon 

In December, Knowva subscribers can look forward to a brand new category launching on the app!

We'll also be adding a selection of Knowva Reads audio read alongs. 

Our Sports Category will also be getting a new upgrade with more than a dozen articles almost ready to go. 

And we have a very exciting, brand new feature to really excite all of those curious minds.
