Introducing Knowva Challenges: focused learning activities for children

We’re excited to introduce Knowva Challenges, a new collection of interactive learning activities designed to help children practise key skills and learn important concepts in a calm, focused, and child friendly way.

Knowva Challenges are short, self contained activities that encourage repetition, curiosity, and confidence. They are not tests and they are not noisy learning games. They are designed to support real learning through simple, purposeful practice.

With over 70 Challenges already available, this marks a major expansion of how children can learn and practise inside Knowva.

What are Knowva Challenges?

Knowva Challenges are interactive learning activities for children, each built around one clear goal.

Some Challenges focus on maths practice, others on spelling, vocabulary, recall, or pattern recognition. Many are word based Challenges that help children strengthen reading and topic knowledge through repetition and exploration.

Each Challenge is designed to:

  • Be easy to understand without adult setup
  • Support independent learning
  • Encourage children to try again without pressure

There are no ads, no external links, and no distractions competing for attention.

A growing library of practice activities

Knowva Challenges already include a wide range of activities, with 71 Challenges live at launch.

These include:

  • Word search Challenges linked to countries, animals, and topics
  • Skill based practice Challenges, such as number fluency
  • Knowledge reinforcement Challenges that support reading and recall

This variety makes Challenges useful both as a quick activity and as a follow up to reading an article or watching a video on Knowva.

Over time, more Challenges will be added across maths, geography, literacy, and general knowledge.

Why we built Challenges this way

Many online educational games for children are fast paced, overstimulating, or reward driven. While they can be engaging, they often work against focus and calm learning.

Knowva Challenges are designed differently.

They slow things down. Instructions are clear, layouts are simple, and children are given space to think. This makes them especially suitable for:

  • Home learning
  • Short focused practice sessions
  • Building confidence without stress

The aim is not to rush children through content, but to help learning stick.
