Knowva

Hi, I’m James, a qualified teacher, former Assistant Headteacher for English, Literacy and Teaching and Learning - and now, the creator of Knowva, the ad-free children’s encyclopaedia and learning platform made for curious young minds!

Every article and educational video in the app is written, produced, and reviewed by me to make online learning for kids clear, engaging, and safe.

I was inspired to create Knowva by my own children. Watching them explore the internet made me realise how difficult it is to find trusted educational websites for kids that are both informative and free from distractions. I wanted to build a place where families could learn together, with accurate information presented in simple, child-friendly language. I also wanted to make a resource that was meaningful and engaging - building upon many years of experience in the classroom and in schools, leading in English, Literacy, Careers and Teaching and Learning.

Knowva is my way of helping children learn online safely, encouraging curiosity while giving parents confidence that every fact, image, and video has been created with care and guided by real teaching experience.
